Hagia Sophia, also known as Ayasofya in Turkish or Ἁγία Σοφία, “Holy Wisdom” in Greek is a former Orthodox Church and patriarchal basilica in Istanbul, Turkey. Now it is only a museum, the most known of it’s king in Turkey. It’s a symbol of fate and wisdom. It’s served as a cathedral in Constantinopole, from the year 360 until 1453 (except between 1204 and 1261 when it was the cathedral of the Latin Empire). It was a mosque from 23 May 1453 until 1934, when it was secularized.
It was opened as a museum on 1 February 1935.
